Overview
Vuma Hills Tented Camp is an easily accessible and attractive camp set in a peaceful location on a rise about 15 minutes from the entrance to
Mikumi National Park. “Vuma” translates from Kiswahili to mean “good gossip spread on the blowing wind;” this camp has the right ambiance and peace for you to listen to and hear the gossip. The camp is perched up in the hills overlooking the plains and represents the most luxurious choice of accommodation in Mikumi. The lodge is managed by the Fox family and with their Africa experience they have made this a relaxed, unpretentious camp with a cosy feel.

Accommodation
• The 16 large and comfortable luxury tents thatl have a double and single bed and each is tastefully decorated in colonial style.

• All tents are decorated in traditional colonial style and are raised on platforms with en suite shower and toilet. Each tent has a large verandah looking out to the plains.

Facilities
• The public areas are set around the small swimming pool and with views over the Mkata River flood plains.

• The large dining pavilion is adjacent to a small swimming pool and there is an outdoor bar where fires are lit in the evenings.

Activities
• Game activities at Vuma concentrate mainly on open-topped 4x4 game drives.

• Depending on the season, walking safaris to the source of the Kikoboga River are arranged or daily guided wildlife excursions and culture tours to the nearby villages.

Dining
• Food is prepared from fresh produce from Tanzania's highland farms. Meal arrangements include a full English breakfast, cold buffet lunch and three course dinner menu.

• Ffresh fruit, a selection of seasonal salads, meat dishes, desserts are a blend of traditional Swahili food and African safari cuisine.
