Our Vehicles

Amani Tours utilizes specially outfitted 4-wheel drive vehicles for your private safari. You will have exclusive use of this vehicle with no mileage restrictions for the duration of your safari. We offer two types of 4-wheel drive vehicles including Land Rover Defenders and Stretched Land Cruisers. We deploy mini-vans only when our clients specify this as a requirement; otherwise, we restrict ourselves to 4X4 vehicles only. Our philosophy is that everyone ought to get a window seat. In addition, most of our 4X4 vehicles have a canvas top, which can be rolled back completely so that you may game view standing from any of the seats. We believe that a canvas top provides the best game viewing experience and is much more favorable then a vehicle with a ‘pop up' top.

(4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers for 1-to-4 persons)

The 4WD Land Rover Defender 110 (shown above) is recommended for 1 – 4 people (6 total seats) . The Land Rover Defenders come equipped with at total of six seats including the driver's seat with four seats in the back under the canvas top. The Defenders are the most functional safari vehicle in use and are capable of handling poor road conditions and are extremely strong off road. This vehicle is the most optimal vehicle and especially if your itinerary involves significant off road driving, which many of our trips do include. Accordingly, we only recommend the Land Rovers for groups ranging from 1 to 4 persons. If you are a group of five and carrying minimal amounts of luggage, then the Land Rover may still make a great fit. Otherwise, the stretched vehicles are recommended for groups greater then 4 persons.

(4x4 Stretched Toyota Landcruiser for 5-to-7 persons)

4WD Stretched Land Cruiser (shown above) is recommended for 5 - 7 people (9 total seats) including the driver's. The Stretched Land Cruisers is similar to a standard Land Cruiser but extended to allow for a third row of seats in the back. This vehicle comes equipped with a total of nine seats including the driver's seat with seven seats in the back under the canvas top. These vehicles are ideal for groups ranging from 5– 7 persons. It is possible to fit to seven guests in a Stretched Land Cruiser but it is only recommended for seven persons.

(Mini-Vans seat 2-to-5 persons for on-road safaris only)

Mini-Vans: Amani Tours may from time to time commission a mini-van only when specified by our clients. Ideally, we do not recommend such vehicles as they are only for on-road usage and do not have a canvas top, but rather a pop-up top which may obstruct game viewing. However, we do provide these vehicles only in special circumstances to meet our client's individual needs. We recommend the mini-van for 2-5 persons only.

Your Guide: Throughout your entire journey, you will be in the company of your driver who will be your professional guide at your service for the duration of your safari.   All vehicles come equipped with a long distance radio that is used to stay in touch with the operational base and communicate with other drivers for the latest game movements. The radio can also be used in emergency purposes for assistance.

You Decide: You will game drive, explore or relax at your leisure when and where you desire.  You are the captain and you make the decisions.  Your days will be spent as you choose including combo drives (morning and late afternoon drives) or all day adventure game drives, short walks or long hikes where allowed, cultural interactions, picnic lunches and relaxing sunset sojourns.
