Overview
Saadani Safari Lodge, exclusively set in the heart of Saadani National Park, Tanzania’s only coastal wildlife reserve. The lodge is a delectable beach side retreat in ecosystems that includes bush, beach and river. There is nothing to compare with it anywhere on the Eastern Coast of Africa. At Saadani Safari Lodge, the only lodge in the National Park, the Indian Ocean breaks almost to the foot of your bed directly onto African Bush and forces it way into the Wami River on the rising tide, just down the coast. Elephants have been known to cavort on the beach and just a stone's throw from the open sea, Hippos wallow in the river estuary. Saadani is unique for it's extraordinary diversity of scenery, wildlife and birdlife thrown together in such a colourful clash of ecosystems. The recently renovated a dilapidated lodge takes into consideration the local environment with it's superb eco-friendly amenities. The atmosphere at the lodge is unpretentious and comfortable.

Accommodation
• Each of the 9 cottages at the lodge are sympathetically spaced along the beach offering great views (especially at sunrise) and privacy.

• The rooms are all en-suite and have private verandas, all beachfront and stylishly designed with en suite bathroom. One of the cottages is an elegant honeymoon banda.

Facilities
•. There is a fresh water swimming pool at the rear of the lodge overlooks a large waterhole which attracts a variety of birds and wildlife.

Activities
• At Saadani you can be on a game drive in the morning, followed by a beachside lunch and an afternoon boat safari on the Wami River.

• Half day game drives and walking safaris are also offered from the lodge and visits to Saadani village can be arranged on request.

• Offshore sailing trips to nearby sandbars make a complete contrast to the game viewing safaris.

Dining
• The open thatched restaurant has an elevated seating area that's directly on sand with a raised sundowner deck above it overlooking the ocean.

• The seafood specialties and Swahili cuisine are delightful.
