Overview
Mwagusi Safari Camp is an exclusive and highly regarded luxury tented camp in Ruaha National Park. Situated on the banks of the Mwagusi Sand River, this is one of the most scenically beautiful areas of the park and has some of the greatest wildlife concentrations and diversity. Nestled into a bank of the Mwagusi Sand River in the north east section of the park, this is a small exclusive tented camp in a fabulous location. Mwagusi stands head and shoulders above virtually every other camp in Tanzania because of all the wildlife experience. A walk up the nearby Kimlamatoge Hill is also highly recommended for the spectacular views of the park below. The Sand River bed below the tents attracts a constant flow of wildlife.

Accommodation
• Built in the "old style" of reed and thatch the eleven chalets accommodate a maximum of 22 guests. All are set beneath large thatched bandas and designed in a traditional style each with a superb view over the Sand River.

• The rooms are made from local, natural materials and furnishings and decorations enhance the feeling of real safari style.

•Fully contained bathrooms are attached to the tents and at the front of each banda is a large covered veranda with a table and armchairs made from local materials affording great game viewing from the comfort of your tent.

Facilities
• The central dining area and bar is positioned to give excellent viewing down the Sand River beds. Dinner is often taken al fresco in the river bed with a variety of wildlife watching you eat.

• A comfortable tented central sleeping area and behind and adjoining the tent there is a spacious en-suite bathroom.

Activities
• Safari options include either driving in open-sided 4x4s or the camps speciality- walking safaris often including interactions with an elephant that has come to know and respect the staff.

• The guides make a stay at Mwagusi an education in the ways of the bush whether you can choose walking safaris, game drives or fly camping.

Dining
• Depending on the seasons meals at the camp are either taken out in the open under the stars or in the comfortable centrally located bar and dining area. The food here is really tasty home cooking, ensuring you will leave a little heavier.
