Elogised by divers, snorkellers and game fishermen alike, the Mafia Island (30 minutes by plane from Dar es Salaam) is home to fauna as diverse as anything in East Africa: 400 fish species, 5 varaiety of sea turtle spread out along 50 genera of coral. This is a true marine park that should not be missed. Perfect for honeymooners or as an excursion after a Tanzania safari.

Day 1 |
Arrival at the Dar es Salaam Airport
An Amani Tours representative, who will transfer you to the Kempinski Kilimanjaro Hotel in Dar es Salaam for dinner and overnight should you arrive on an evening flight. However, should you arrive on a morning flight, we will connect you on a short flight (30 minutes) to Mafia Island in the afternoon. Resting, dinner and overnight at the Kempinski.

Day 2 |
Transfer to Mafia Island
Pick-Up from hotel after lunch and shuttled to airport ready to leave for Mafia Island. On arrival at the airport, you will be met by our representative, who will transfer you to Mafia Kinasi Lodge for lunch and afternoon beach leisure. Resting, dinner and overnight at Kinasi.

Day 3
to 4 |
Two Days of Leisure on Mafia Island
Both days are at your leisure. However, you may want to plan a day excursion to Chole Island, which is packed with ancient ruins, including some from the German colonial administration. While on Chole, you may take a walking tour to see boat-building, sail making, the hand-maunfacturing of copra (coconut fiber) ropes, and see a ancient coral rock swimming pool. A picnic lunch will be offered. Optional activities include snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing and scuba diving. Relaxing, dinner and overnight at Kinasi.

Day 5 |
Return to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast and lunch at Kinasi then transfer to airport for short flight to Dar es Salaam, where you will spend an overnight at the Kempinski or transfer to Dar es Salaam International Airport for your flight home. |
