Overview
Foxes Safari Camp is a small personalized tented camp in Mikumi National Park operated by the Fox family, who bring have over 40 years of experience in the Tanzanian tourism industry. The camp is attractively set on a granite outcrop overlooking the Mwanambogo waterhole and Mkapa floodplain in a good wildlife-viewing area in Mikumi’s far north. Foxes Safari Camp is the most intimate lodge in Mikumi. Being 14 km from the main road traffic noise is not a problem like at some of the other camps in Mikumi and game viewing is of a high standard.

Accommodation
• The eight- tents are spaced out around the sides of the hill, all raised on platforms with private verandahs. The tents are basic but functional and afford good views over the plains.

• All tents come with mosquito nets, ensuite bathroom facilities and a private verandah built on a slope with panoramic view of the plains and hillsides.

• Each tent is hidden amongst the kopjes (granite boulders) and the main dining boma and bar area is on the kopje-top.

Facilities
• The central dining area is perched atop the hill and campfires are lit in the evenings to admire the night skies.

Activities
• Game drives are conducted in Mikumi National Park and day visits to the nearby Udzungwa Mountains can be organised in advance.

Dining
• Meal arrangements include choice of full English or Continental breakfast; Lunch is a cold buffet with dessert. Guest close the day with a three-course dinner with vegetarian option together with tea and coffee facilities.

Aimed at a more rough and ready bush experience than the more sophisticated Vuma Hills. No frills but doesn’t claim anything else. We feel this is the only camp in the park which offers a true bush experience.
