Overview
Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa is situated on the finest sandy beach on the on the East Coast of Zanzibar in an area known as Kiwengwa. The resort is only a 35 minute drive from Stone Town and the airport on a recently built tarmac road. Bluebay is situated on a beautiful 25 acre site with its bedroom cottages located on rising ground overlooking verdant gardens, the public areas, the pool, and more than 1,000 palm trees. The makuti-thatch bungalows are set on a slope some distance from the beach and main lodge area. The reception area at Blue Bay is very impressive. It’s white, airy and spacious with Arabic arches and a fountain set in a palm-fronded atrium.

Accommodation
• Bluebay Beach Resort offers 88 sea-facing rooms, including 80 superior rooms, six deluxe rooms and two Sultan suites - with big price differences.

• All rooms are tastefully decorated using reproductions of Zanzibari furniture (rather than the genuine antiques found elsewhere in Zanzibar) and a cool, white-and-blue colour scheme reflecting the dazzling sand and azure ocean. 

• There are four-poster beds with mosquito nets, a writing bureau, coffee table and easy chairs, dressing room, en-suite bathroom and either a veranda or balcony.

Facilities
• Bluebay Beach Resort operates a high quality, tastefully decorated and well stocked Boutique.

• The resort has a Conference Room which accommodates up to 75 people seated in theatre style.

• The hotel provides a Fitness Centre, Water Sports and Dive Centre, Business Centre and a well equipped Dispensary with Doctor on call

• Other facilities include an open air discotheque, a large fresh water swimming pool with adjoining open-air Jacuzzi and children's paddling pool, and the most fantastic Spa in East Africa .

Activities
• All kinds of watersports are available at 5-Star PADI Scuba Diving Centre and a Water Sports Centre including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling, surfboarding, waterskiing and off course scuba diving.

• Half and full day excursions to Prison Island tour and Jozani Forest tour . Take the historical Stone Town tour or the Spice tour.

Dining
• The Makuti restaurant , one of two restaurants, provides leisurely breakfasts, lunches and glorious seafood buffets at night.

• There’s the convenience of the informal Beach Bar and Restaurant. This thatched restaurant offers seafood, burgers, pizzas and other light meals.
