Overview
Oliver's Camp is situated East of outside the park's main gate, a short 15 minute drive way. The camp is a luxury tented camp offering almost everything that a lodge would offer. Oliver's Camp is located in a remote area in the unspoilt wilderness of the Tarangire Conservation Area in Northern Tanzania. It is a tough drive home, being situated way down in the western reaches, but has an authentic hard-nosed real bush appeal. Vast and ancient boulders nearby provide a good vantage point for sunset-watchers, and attract admirably agile rock-climbing Klipspringer antelope. Oliver’s Camp is now part of the Asilia Group.
Accommodation
• There are only 5 rooms (15 beds), all with local wooden furniture and great views across the wilderness beyond. The interiors of each tent are tastefully decorated with pastel shades.
• Each tent has private en suite facilities with an open bucket shower and eco chemical toilet.
Facilities
• The entirety of Olivers Camp is tented, with dining tent, laundry tent and kitchen tent spread out among the rocks and trees. As such the camp does not have much of a central focus, and is perhaps better suited to the determinedly anti-social.
• Olivers also has an incredibly well stocked library which doubles up as a lounge. The dinning room is separate.
Activities
• Very often you will be sitting minding your business when a large bull elephant decides to pay the camp a visit. It is somewhere you can truly experience the African bush in an unstuffy way.
Dining
• Oliver's offers excellent safari cuisine, using fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables grown in .
