Overview
Naitolia Eco-Lodge Tarangire is nestled deep in the savannah, acacia and baobab ecosystem of Tarangire Conservation Area, a 40,000-acre wildlife management area that straddles the wildlife migration route into . Its innovative design and unique appearance have already won praise from far afield and the environmentally-friendly modus operandi has attracted attention from various Green organisations. It is the only lodge in Northern Tanzania that can make such a claim.
Wherever possible, the facilities have been carefully crafted from local materials to create a rustic lodge, full of character and charm.
Accommodation
• The eco-friendly bandas with en suite bathrooms are constructed entirely from local materials with low stone and grass walls, covered by grass-thatched roof in the style of the traditional African bandas.
• The only concession to modernity is the front façade made of canvas and shade cloth (mosquito netting) to afford guests uninterrupted views of the unfurling Lemiyon Plains from the comfort of the huge cedar four-poster beds.
Facilities
• There is a communal dining area with a candle-lit dining area for the six guests, bar and small library, opening out onto the flat-topped acacias and open savannah.
Activities
• The camp organises game drives and walking safaris into the Tarangire Conservation Area as well as cultural tours to nearby Maasai villages.
Dining
• Naitolia offers unique traditional African safari cuisine combining fresh fruit and vegetables from nearby farms. Specially candle-lit dinners are also planned in the deep bush.

The camp's use of renewable natural materials and local furnishings, makes for a unique departure from the traditional tented camps of the Northern safari circuit.
