Overview
Jongomero Luxury Tented Camp is situated in the remote south-western section of Ruaha National Park, on the banks of the seasonal Jongomero Sand River. The sand river always has some water pools that attracts game all year around which you can watch from your veranda or any of the communal areas. This camp has recently been refurbished and is starting to set the standards for the rest of Ruaha’s luxury camps. The surrounding camp areas are protected in a grove of Acacia and Ebony trees, and comprises a bar, eating area and a natural rock swimming pool. The eating area is often left empty since guests usually have special meals including al fresco dinner set on the sand river bed under the stars or classic Ruaha safari picnics. The service and food at this lodge are exceptional.

Accommodation
• Eight extravagantly spacious tents on raised platforms under a Makuti thatch roof 8 Ft wide with Dhow wood Emperor beds with bedside tables & lamps and tasteful but minimalist safari styling.

• En suite bathrooms with double vanity, ample cupboard space and dressing area with hot and cold running water solar heated with backup immersion heater.

• Spacious front veranda ensuring maximum privacy with views.

Facilities
• Public area is beautifully located in the deep shade of an ancient African Ebony tree with uninterrupted views of the Jongomero River bed and the bush beyond.

• The filtered swimming pool overlooks the seasonal Jongomero River- allowing for cooling off while still keeping your eyes open for any wildlife activity Pool mattresses and towels.

Activities
• Ruaha safari game drives in open 4X4 drive vehicles, walking safaris accompanied by game scouts, and all day drives with bush picnics with excellent birding watching opportunities.

• Dining is an adventure: a combination of table d’hote, elegant buffets, al fresco dinners under the stars, campfire cooking and classic safari picnics. International cuisine with a truly East African flavour.
