Overview
Serengeti Sopa Lodge is nestled in the acacia woodland on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the plains of the , one of the most famous parks in the world, and host to the largest and most spectacular annual migration of the wildebeest. Being situated on the slopes of the hills, the lodges offers magnificent views over the 14,763sq km (5,200sq. mile) expanse of the Serengeti, Tanzania's largest wildlife conservation area. It is a tranquil oasis set in over 14,000 square kilometers (5,000 square miles) of the Serengeti. Opened in 1992, the lodge is located in the Nyarboro Hills and is the only tourism development in this section of the Park. The Serengeti plains are host to a dramatic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, and numerous other species of wildlife indigenous to the area. The lodge is located 35 km from the Seronera Airstrip serviced by scheduled flights twice daily from via .
Accommodation
• The lodge can accommodate 170 guests in 79 suites, each room having wall-to-wall carpeting, a private lounge with a mini bar, a bedroom with two queen size beds and an en-suite bathroom with a private verandah which offers stunning views over the plains of Serengeti.

• The lodge specialises in the annual wildebeest migration but also organised day wildlife watching and game driving safaris in the Serengeti.
• Serengeti Sopa Lodge is in an accessible location for across the Serengeti. Cultural activities include traditional dancing, and slide presentations by naturalists.

• The meals are served in the main restaurant and are prepared in international and local Tanzania flavors by professionally trained chefs. Wilderness breakfasts and luncheons can be arranged as well as sunset cocktails by the pool.

Serengeti Sopa Lodge's design is elegant and unobtrusive, inspired by a traditional African village. Separate rondavel "huts" house luxury guestrooms, offering high standards of service and accommodation, with swimming pool. This is the best place to stay in the Serengeti if you are specifically after a lodge safari. Like the rest of Sopa Hotels properties this is a well run hotel, with dependable levels of service and food, but not somewhere you will find a particularly "bush" experience.
