Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge

Overview
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
is set high on the saddle of tree-clad ridge commanding panoramic views over the endlessly rolling reaches and volcanic reefs of Serengeti National Park. The lodge is the ultimate fusion of traditional African architecture and world-class style. Drawing its inspiration from the circular rondavel dwellings and winding paths of a traditional Maasai village, the lodge features thickly-thatched, stone-built rooms, spaciously set amongst groves of indigenous trees that are cooled by sparkling streams and papyrus-fringed ponds. A delightful water feature runs through the main public areas, creating a natural source of waterborne plants.

Accommodation
• All 66 guest rooms with 53 twin bed units, 10 triples and a suite, all have private balconies with views of the Serengeti plains. The overall effect of which is a unique blend of authentic ethnicity and world-class elegance.

• Each room is accommodated in a stone-built, traditionally-thatched Rondavel, featuring natural stone bathrooms, rope-lashed staircases, leopard-print drapes and intricately carved furniture.

Facilities
• There is a magnificently situated drop-off pool surrounded by shady tree and sunbeds set out in private areas. Linked by shaded walkways and clustered around the roaring furnace of the central barbecue arena, the high-domed halls of the two-tier dining room are supported by massive papyrus-topped pillars and embellished with Makonde carvings.

Activities
• The lodge specialises in the annual wildebeest migration but also organised day wildlife watching and game driving safaris in the Serengeti.

• The Serengeti Serena Lodge is in an accessible location for balloon safaris across the Serengeti. Cultural activities include traditional dancing, and slide presentations by naturalists.

Dining
The restaurant is notably good, with fantastic nightly buffets and much of the food cooked before your eyes in the open-air kitchen. The cuisine features time-honored safari favorites, local Tanzania specialties and internationally themed dishes alike.

Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge – Amani Tours View
The Serengeti Serena Lodge is a beautiful hotel that has a very personal feel to it and a great location in the park. It has the edge on other hotels of its size, as the small huts allow for a real sense of privacy and feeling of being out in the bush. It is a perfect place to spend a few days year round, but particularly during the migration months of May through to July.
