Overview
Kirawira Luxury Camp
is a permanent luxury lodge in the Serengeti National Park. The camp is the epitome of colonially styled safari luxury stands high on the bluff of a bush-cloaked ridge, commanding panoramic views over the endlessly rolling reaches and volcanic reefs of the Park. Kirawira Camp is designed in typically Edwardian style featurin an elegant central meeting tent evocatively furnished with a tasteful selection of chintz-covered chaises longues, jewel-hued Persian rugs, antique escritoires, wind-up phonograms, leather-bound traveling cases, brass shooting sticks, carved rocking chairs and stud-backed smoking chairs. The tent also incorporates a stained-glass and mahogany Edwardian Bar and a stone flagged khaki-and-canvas sun downer terrace looking out over gently sloping acacia groves towards the lilac-gray hills and lion-gold plains of the Serengeti's Western Corridor, scene of the thunderous theatre of the million-strong wildebeest migration.

Accommodation
• The camp offers 25 luxury tents, each with a private terrace and personal valet (5 King Size and 20 Twin Bedded Tents). The essentially colonial ambiance of the tented-rooms evokes colorful memories of the famous safaris of days gone.

• To the rear of each tent is an elegant mahogany-paneled ensuite bathroom with twin marble washstands, polished brass fittings and classic black-and-white tiled Edwardian shower and lavatory.

Facilities
• The Serena connection is only really apparent at the swimming pool with plunge-bath, waterfall, timbered viewing deck and private enclaves with phenomenal views of the Park.

• In keeping with the theme of colonial opulence, the elegant dining tents with Edwardian-styled dining furniture feature extensive wine lists and sumptuously creative menus. There is also an extensively stocked gift and safari-requisites tent with a library of Africana books.

Activities
• The Kirawira Camp offers the unique combination of prime wildlife viewing, walking safaris and fly camping and interaction with local Tanzania cultures (Maasai, Wakuria) just outside the park.

• The camp specialises in the annual wildebeest migration but also organised day wildlife watching and game driving safaris in Serengeti. It is also accessible for balloon safaris across the Serengeti.

Cultural visits to neighbouring local communities and schools and talks on the heritage and tradition of the local Ikoma and Sikuma tribes are also arranged.

Dining
• Dishes can also be prepared to personal guest specification. The extensive menus feature Full English breakfasts and five-course luncheons and suppers comprising of delicate soups, lavish roasts, classic salads, local cheese boards and fresh-brewed coffee. This is an extraordinarily fine permanent tented camp, elegantly furnished throughout in the old 1920s safari style, with Victorian antiques (or reproductions), including studded leather folding wardrobes and polished brass taps and trimmings.
