Overview
Plantation Lodge is located in the heart of the African Bush and surrounded by the coffee plantations. The lodge gives its guests both the excitement of a safari and the comforts of luxury accommodation.
Plantation Lodge is set on a working coffee and arable farm just outside Karatu, a short drive from and less than an hour from .
The lodge, an intimate bush home, is also very near Lake Eyasi.
Each of its bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom and there are wood burning stoves in each of the sitting rooms, which is particularly welcome between June and early September when it can be quite cold in the evenings.
Accommodation
• The lodge has only 16 rooms. The elegant rooms are well thought out with large beds, and it is immediately obvious that the place has been designed and decorated by someone with a great eye for detail.

Rooms have their own individual style; designed to give maximum relaxation after dusty safaris. Each room has its own veranda and bathroom and is designed with African-safari antiques, arts and crafts.
Facilities
• Outside there are very pretty gardens with views over the adjacent farm land. The swimming pool area is where guests can relax while sipping sundowners after a dusty and unforgettable safari.
• The lodge operates a shop with African products & post cards. Four Dining areas guarantee privacy, if specially booked.
Activities
• Daily safaris begin from the Plantation Lodge then cross the legendary Masaai Territory towards the , Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater.
• As well as relaxing you can take some great nature walks and cuoltureal tours around the lodge into the surrounding farmland, villages and the forest to the nearby waterfalls.
Dining
• The lodge offers exquisite meals with menu choices ranging from European specialties to exotic dishes prepared in the Suaheli-kitchen.
• Only the freshest ingredients are used which are taken from the lodges own vegetable garden. Together with the meals, guests also have the choice of a selection of exquisite South African wines.
Plantation Lodge – Amani Tours View
In our view, the Plantation Lodge is the best of the Coffee Plantations along this stretch of road. This is an excellent place to spend a night or two between visits to or Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater and visits can be easily arranged to either from here. This is also a place from which one can easily visit Lake Eyasi for an (albeit, rather long) day and it's also just a very comfortable place where you can get a total contrast to the rest of your safari.
