Overview
Wild Africa Manyara Lodge is located on the northern shore of , only few kilometers from the town of Mto wa Mbu. It is difficult to imagine a more spectacular setting for an African safari lodge. The layout of the lodge is a tribute to indigenous architectural traditions. Beyond the superb standards of service offered, there is a spirit of tranquility that prevails. The extraordinary bird life has made this place world renowned among ornitologists, who come to observe the masses of pink flamingoes and great birds of prey.
The mornings and sunsets are just one of the awesome sights, flamingoes on the lake providing a spectacular reflection from the morning sunrise.
Accommodation
• The lodge consits of 10 large tented rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms. One is a fully functional and well-presented tented-thatched luxury honeymoon suite.
• All rooms are raised on polished wooden decks, complete with directors' chairs, and shaded by neat thatch.
Facilities
• Well-lit pathways lead to the central dining and lounge area, which sits under an impressively waved thatch structure, and there is an upper level viewing platform affording fabulous sunset vistas.
• There is also a swimming pool and a bar over looking Lake Manyara.
Activities
• Some of the activities are the normal game drives at Lake Manyara, bycicle tours, cultural walks, bird watching or just relaxing on the lodges' own pool!
• Traditional Maasai dance presentations are held every night. Boma Walks amongst the masai bomas who live just nearby are arranged daily
Dining
• The lodge offers good quality home cooking prepared by a safari chef. Many of the fruit and vegetables are from local farmers in the Manyara area.
They always offer a vegetarian alternative.
