Overview
Ras Kutani Beach Resort is a luxurious beach hideaway 35 km South of Dar es Salaam. The resort, about ten minutes away at the Nouth end of the beach from Amani Beach Resort, is in a superb location on a hill among a tropical forest overlooking the Indian Ocean on one side and a freshwater lagoon with a white, sandy isolated beach on the other. After the 2 hour drive, you will truly know that you are entering a different world when you pass through the extensive tracts of bush and palm trees. Ras Kutani provides an escape from the outside world, a dreamy environment for guests to relax in hammocks on your private bamboo banda veranda, in the bar or on the beach; it is without doubt one of Tanzania's finest beach hideaways.

Accommodation
• Accommodation is in twelve rustic and spacious, barefoot luxury style bungalows with private bamboo verandas and superb views over the ocean and lagoon.

• The bandas, each individually handcrafted using local natural materials are situated under the cooling canopy of indigenous trees and offer gorgeous seaside views.

• The bungalows have eight foot wide double beds with bedside tables and lamps, and a large front veranda with Swahili daybeds and hammocks.

• En suite bathrooms with hot and cold fresh water showers.have cupboard space and large dressing areas.

Facilities
• The Upepo Suites with larger rooms and private plunge pools have an open-plan bar and dining area offer pure relaxation.

Activities
• Body boarding, surfing, and snorkelling or canoeing the fresh water lagoon on a kayak. Horse riding along the beach or through the bush and local plantations nature walks in the indigenous coastal forest, or along the deserted beach.

• Guided bird-watching trips, forest walks, and walks to local inland or fishing village along the coast (subject to tides). Deep Sea Fishing around the reefs, or full day excursions to Latham Sland and the Zanzibar Channel (Prior notification required and subject to Ocean conditions)

• Cards, chess and backgammon are about as stressful as this place gets.
