Overview
Mount Meru Game Lodge & Sanctuary is situated 22 km from Arusha Town and 30 km from Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) nestled between Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, within 33 acres of mature, well manicured gardens. Its main attraction is the neighbouring game sanctuary, from the lodge itself you can see zebras, waterbuck, buffaloes, peacocks, ostriches, monkeys and many more animals. An enormous variety of birds come to feed and breed. The main focus of the sanctuary is to provide a safe haven for injured and orphaned animals. Its enclosed rehabilitation area offers refuge to an assortment of owls, eagles, tortoises, a porcupine and even a crocodile. The sanctuary owes its sustainability entirely to the lodge. We like this part as we could pride ourselves in the fact that our stay not only served as a great getaway, but also contributed to a good cause.

Accommodation
• Mount Meru Game Lodge comprises of 2 suites and 15 double or twin bedrooms ensuite with spacious bathrooms.

• All rooms are individualistic styled in African decor, and have a veranda with comfortable chairs where guests may relax during the late afternoons enjoying the peace of the surroundings.

Facilities
• The lounge, with its enormous picture windows and comfortable furniture, provides for complete relaxation in intimate surroundings at a campfire.

• There is a large terrace, shaded by old Mango trees, enjoys views over the gardens to the Sanctuary beyond.

• Wireless internet connectivity is also available throughout the main building of the lodge, in the gardens and in most guest bedrooms.

Activities
• The lodge offers ‘Cultural and Educational’ visits to local villages and farms as well as sightseeing tours to some of the natural forests and scenic spots in the area.

• Take a game drive at the near by Arusha National Park or take a tour of Cultural Heritage to purchase wood carvings and Tanzanite gemstones.

• Go a day trip to other nearby attractions, easily accessible from the hotel, including trekking Mt. Meru, visitng the Arusha museum or shopping at the Arusha market.

•. The bar is well stocked with a wide selection of spirits, beers and minerals which are complemented by a carefully selected collection of fine wines and the fine dining room provides the perfect setting for a relaxing meal.
