Overview
Mount Meru Hotel is situated in the centre of Arusha Town at the foot of Mount Meru. With its central location, the hotel is ideal to start a Northern Ciruit safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. The 7-story building was built in the 1960's and has nearly 200 rooms. On one side of the hotel, the rooms overlook the pool and a golf course, and on the other side, there is a view of Mount Meru. The Mount Meru Hotel is surrounded by some 15 acres of gardens with numerous species of African trees and flowers, including Khana and Jacaranda. It is about a 45 minute drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) and 20 minutes to Arusha Airport with management usually providing a shuttle service to both. The public shuttle bus service to Nairobi starts and terminates at this hotel.

• The hotel has 168 spacious and comfortable rooms overlooking the swimming pool, the golf course or Mt. Meru.

• All the rooms have ensuite bathroom and are decorated in a modern yet simple style. Non-smoking rooms are available.

• The hotels offers conference rooms, a grand lounge and terrace area and catering services for up to 200 guests for conferences, seminars, and wedding receptions.

• There is a large swimming pool in the back of the hotel bordered by the Gymkhana Golf Club.

• Guests can golf at the neably Gymkhana Golf Club or take a dip in the swimming pool.

• Take a game drive at the near by Arusha National Park or take a tour of Cultural Heritage to purchase wood carvings and Tanzanite gemstones.

• Go a day trip to other nearby attractions, easily accessible from the hotel, including trekking Mt. Meru visitng the Arusha museum or shopping at the Arusha market.

• The hotel's restaurant offers a wide variety of menues served along the poolside. The menues include international cuisine, tradtional African dishes, themed buffets and barbarque meals.
